We found an old bus stop somewhere in Punggol during Raya. Everyone of us in this picture came from that generation of Singaporean kids in the 70s and early 80s where this bus stop was the main pit stop of public transportation. No MRTs, and cabs were expensive. A bus ride from these bus stops started at 5 cents. There would be a bus conductor carrying a sling back full of colourful tickets and a hole puncher. Buses were non air conditioned and sometimes, when you take the same bus often enough, the bus conductors would know your name or who your parents were.
